Our challenge was to build a large 12000-sq.ft home with palace-type aspects while also making sure it felt “homey” and cozy. So often, large homes are just that…large! The proportions are often not well thought out, and instead of looking like someone’s house, they look like a commercial building. At 120-ft wide and 45-ft high, the Lotus Villa stands out as a complete beauty and an eye-catcher.

As you enter the home, you are first captivated by the breathtaking skylight-covered interior garden. Our thought process here was to bring the outside in, even during the winter months. It may be cold outside, but with this design, sitting around the garden is always possible.

At RPD Studio, integrating the external landscape with our internal design is a huge part of our concept. The yoga room is a perfect example of this. The floor-to-ceiling windows surrounded by beautiful landscaping will make you feel as though you are practicing outside. If you are not into yoga, this same tranquil space can be used for prayer or meditation due to its peaceful vibe.
